SpeechStudio and the Microsoft Speech SDK both use
Windows Installer technology. Windows Installer makes it
easy to redistribute components without worrying about the
details of what files they include, what registry settings they
need, etc.

In SpeechStudio 2.0, we provide a Windows Installer merge
module file that can be included in your installation package.
It's called SpPlay2.msm and it's located in the Redist folder
of the SpeechStudio installation (in "Program Files"). The
merge module takes care of installing SpeechPlayer and the
SpeechStudio ActiveX control.

The Microsoft Speech SDK provides several merge modules
for installing their redistributable speech components. The
Setup white paper in the Speech SDK Help explains what is
included in each module. The information under the heading
"Building your Setup Package" applies to SpeechStudio-enabled
applications as well.

To create an installation package for a speech-enabled
application, you can use a commercial authoring tool, such as
InstallShield for Windows Installer, or the basic tools included
with the Windows Installer SDK (part of the Microsoft Platform
SDK). You can then merge in the modules provided by us (for
SpeechStudio components) and by Microsoft (for any Microsoft
speech components you wish to use). One source of information
about authoring tools is InstallSite (www.installsite.org).
